SportSeries' Evoenergy Gel with Caffeine is the stimulant version of HSN's classic gel: Evoenergy, which aims to provide you with efficient amounts of carbohydrates with different absorption rates, mineral salts (electrolytes) for hydration during physical exercise that generates sweating, and in this version, caffeine, to obtain a stimulating point.

Evoenergy Gel is the classic version of HSN gels, with a characteristically thick, medium-consistency texture. Our reformulation features an improved density, making them more fluid and easier to drink.

Evoenergy Gel is the most typical gel for athletes of all levels, with an average adjustment of its carbohydrate, electrolyte and caffeine content, very easy to adapt to different types of endurance tests.

Evoenergy Gel with Caffeine, is it the best option?

Which type of gel to choose

The choice of gels for sports use is conditioned by personal preference in the density of these products, since in the market there are ranges of consistency that fluctuate between ultra-fluid and ultra-dense.

Evoenergy Gel, both the caffeinated and caffeine-free versions, have a medium consistency . They are designed to be drunk, but they are not hydrogels. With the reformulation, we have made them lighter so you can use them comfortably and adaptably to your needs, regardless of the duration or conditions of the activity.

With or without caffeine

One of the changes we've made to our Evoenergy Gel with Caffeine is removing guarana from the original formula. We've precisely adjusted the stimulant content of our gels so that each unit provides 100mg of pure caffeine , a precise amount that you can combine with any of our products.

When choosing whether to consume a gel with or without caffeine, unless your training is close to bedtime or you are extremely sensitive to the negative effects of stimulants, it is wise to combine both options, since caffeine, used in doses of 4mg/kg of body weight, helps to reduce the perception of physical effort during training.

Importance of the 2:1 (Glucose:Fructose)

The human gut is not designed to absorb carbohydrates in unlimited quantities. However, combining them with alternative sources of monosaccharides (specifically fructose) improves the digestive system's ability to absorb carbohydrates.

Evoenergy Gel has been developed taking into account the scientific evidence that establishes the ideal ratio of different monosaccharides for efficient absorption, administering:

  • Glucose as dextrose, cyclic dextrin and isomaltulose (Palatinose™)
  • Fructose as isomaltulose (Palatinose™)

Carbohydrates, electrolytes, and caffeine. Everything you need!

Evoenergy Gel contains everything you need to improve your physical endurance and optimize your athletic performance:

  • Carbohydrates: 30g per gel, from different sources, providing mixed absorption rates
  • Sodium: 100mg, the main electrolyte lost through sweat induced by physical exertion
  • Caffeine: 100mg, an alkaloid naturally present in coffee beans, which in sufficient doses is able to improve physical endurance and reduce the perception of physical effort.

And you get it all in a convenient 55ml single-dose format, ready to open and consume.

When to use a caffeine gel and when not to.

There are cases where using a caffeine gel is not recommended. These are:

  • In people who are negatively sensitive to the use of stimulants
  • In people sensitive to the effects of caffeine on sleep, when they train late in the afternoon or at night

However, gels with caffeine are excellent pre-workouts, mixed with water, before a morning riding session.

Of course, its main use is during the session, and as such, many people use it half an hour before facing a tough point, or physical/mental barrier during a sporting event, such as kilometer 21 during a marathon.

We'll teach you how to use gels in your nutrition

Gels shouldn't be the foundation of your intra-workout nutrition because they're too potent. If you want to use them as a supplement, you'll need to drink plenty of water. Gels are typically used to add an extra boost to your sports drink, which is an isotonic beverage containing carbohydrates and electrolytes.

The carbohydrate intake per hour of intense, long-duration endurance exercise is about 90g.

One Evoenergy gel provides you with 30g , so in combination with an isotonic formula like Evocarbs 2.0 or Evotonic, you can easily obtain those 90g that may be difficult to achieve originally, without the use of the gel.
